Moments of Idleness/FLOW–part of Totally Thames Festival 2026
Through songs of rivers and tides, soprano Milena Knauß and pianist Lana Bode invite audiences into an immersive listening experience, exploring our collective ability to dwell in idleness. In moments of intentional pause initiated by performers and listeners–sometimes literally stopping mid-song–the river becomes an active collaborator: wind, trees, ripples, city noise, birdsong.
What arises when stimulation ceases?
After the performance, audiences are invited to join the artists for tea by the river–to exchange reflections, impressions, and silences.
